Black and White Ball October 2011
Now in its fifth year, Saturday 1 October saw us hold our biggest event, The
Black & White Ball at the Park Inn Hotel in Bedford. The event was a sell out with over
400 people attending and enjoying a Bucks Fizz Reception and a four course meal
with wine. The evening was hosted by our Master of Ceremonies Alan Whitely and
photographed by Austins photography and featured entertainment by Bedford Based
Groove Connection, Magic by Dean Maudsley, Dancing by Shake and Shimmy, Sounds
Familiar Choir, and Jokers Wild Casino. We are still waiting for final figures
to come in but we can tell you that we are on target to have made a wonderful
total of
£8000. This is thanks to each and everyone of you who came. You have made a
difference and should be very proud!
Our 6th Black & Purple Ball on 6 October 2012 is already being planned. Please contact the

Voices for Hospices Presentation
Babs Astle was delighted to be presented with a
cheque in the sum of £2816.93 as a result of the Voices for Hospices Concert held in October 2011.
Voices for Hospices is a wave of simultaneous concerts which takes place on
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day every two years. Our concert was
organised by local choir Sounds Familiar and took place at Cranfield University and was very well attended and supported
for which we are extremely grateful. The objective of the event is to raise funds and awareness for hospice and
palliative care in your region and around the world. Voices for Hospices events
use the voice to raise funds and awareness for hospice and palliative care.
Halloween Sausage and Mash Night
October 19 saw us hold our Halloween themed Sausage and Mash Supper Evening. It
was a fantastic evening where we raised the magnificent amount of £655.
The effort put into wearing some fantastic costumes and
towards the pumpkin carving was brilliant with prizes for the best efforts. Thank you to all our FANTASTIC volunteers who worked so hard in the kitchen that made the whole night possible. Thank you to everyone that came and supported us, you have made a difference. |

MisFitz Live Music Night
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our first ever live music
evening on 6 August. Thank you to The MisFitz, Daleys Club, Kempston and
Andreas. We made the amazing amount of £590 for the Hospice.
